Round 11 in the English Premier League predictions 9-10.11
Another week in the English Premier League is on its way and we are about to analyze some of the more interesting games in this round of the best league in the world.
Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion
The Blues won against Schalke in the Champions League round in midweek with a classic result and now they face WBA in a try to redeem themselves for the loss against Newcastle last round in the EPL. Eto’o is in form and Jose will hope he score some more goals in today’s fixture, as Torres is sidelined with an injury for couple of weeks.
WBA took a breath against the sailing side of Crystal Palace last round with a 2:0 victory at home and now they will try to upset the London giants, after they did that early in the season with the champions – Manchester United. Will they manage to do so – we are about to see.
Prediction: 1, Over 2,5 goals – 3:1
Crystal Palace vs Everton
We don’t even think we should take some time and explain why we expect a win for the Toffies… Palace are in huge hole, from where they aren’t going to escape soon and with 9 losses from 10 games, with the sole win being against the struggling side of Sunderland in the start of the season, it will quite a miracle if they manage to get even a point against the strong side of Everton.
For the Toffies, this will be a major preparation for the Merseyside derby next round and we think they will make a hard training against Palace…
Prediction: 2, Under 2,5 goals – 0:2
Liverpool vs Fulham
After last round crash against the top side Arsenal on the Emirates, Liverpool must try to get back on the winning path and to stay in the chase for the Gunners and not make the gap even greater. Pool were outplayed heavily by Arsenal and now they must man up and overpower the shaky side of Fulham. Rogers couldn’t use Glen Johnson last round and now he must be present in the squad for the red team of Merseyside. Great chance for the ‘SAS’ two bring back to the fans’ mind what they are made of and to pilage the London side.
Fulham, like WBA, had their last win against Crystal Palace and are in a losing streak for 3 games already, including the game in the League Cup against Leicester City. Martin Jol will have a hard time to manage to keep his side not to concede a goal and even harder to score one. Easy game for Pool, if you ask us…
Prediction: 1, Over 2,5 goals – 3:0
Southampton vs Hull City
Mauricio Pochettino is the manager of the month in the Premier League. And it is quite deserved, giving the fact the great performance the Saints are showing. 6th in the Premier League, with just a point from the second team in the table – Chelsea. Great month for the Saints it was definitely and now they have the chance to continue with their non-losing streak in the league, with already 6 games winning or making a draw. Yes, they lost against Sunderland midweek in a game for the League Cup, but that is arguably not their prime target this season.
The Hull Tigers are visiting Saint Mary’s Stadium after a hard game against the struggling side of Sunderland, from where they came up with a win, and now they will have to play some really decent game if they want to get even a point.
With the newly promoted English nationals – Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez in their starting line-up, The Saints will be a hard side to beat this weekend.
Prediction: 1, Under 2,5 goals – 2:0
Tottenham vs Newcastle
Since the refreshing loss against West Ham a month ago, Spurs are on a rise in their form and are 4 wins and 2 draws. A nice win against Sheriff in the Europa League in midweek, which sent them in the next phase of the tournament. In the Premier League however, they lost the chance to settle second in the table behind Arsenal, after they made a quite dull 0:0 draw with Everton last week. Perfect score for all the other teams in the top of the league and now the Spurs will have a chance to get the missed 3 points in the last game. They host Newcastle, who are on a very shaky form recently, alternating good with bad results combined with the form they show, and after they put Chelsea to Earth last week, now they have to find a way to show their same face that demolished the Blue side of London, and oppose the Spurs in the best way they can.
Prediction: 1, Under 2,5 goals – 1:0
Sunderland vs Manchester City
Another game we feel it is not so tough to be predicted, even that we know this is the English Premier League and everything is possible. Sunderland defeated Southampton in midweek game for the League Cup, but that game will be not even an inch close to the game we are about to watch this Sunday. The Blue side of Manchester is to visit the Stadium of Light and even that City won’t be able to use David Silva, who is out with a Calf Muscle Strain and will be out for about a month and some, the Citizens will most likely manage to destroy the home’s side net. City defeated CSKA Moscow on the Etihad midweek in a game for the Champions League and are on for continuing to utilize their great form with another strong performance in the EPL.
Prediction: 2, Over 2,5 goals – 1:3
Manchester United vs Arsenal
The derby of the week is on Sunday, with current champions Manchester United hosting the current leaders in the table Arsenal. The Red Devils have the chance to reduce the gap between both teams and to hit on the form and mental strenght on the Arsenal. A lot of mind games started some days before the game, with both managers speaking trash about players from the opponent’s side and even some of the players themselves participated in the media clash, with Rooney and Ramsey both stating their opinions on the game and present league table standings.
United struggled in midweek with a weak performance against Real Sociedad in the Champions League, with Ashley Young being the top story with his another shameful dive to give his side a penalty kick, which RvP missed.
Arsenal, on the other hand made a qiute spectacular performance to beat Borussia Dortmund on the road with the minimal score 0:1, after Ramsey scored his regular goal this season to put the Gunners in first place of the group and giving them all the chances for the Last 16. Now it will be no less easy for the Gunners, as they have to beat their recent years complex and oppose the Red side of Manchester and their former captain – Robin van Persie. Interesting game between two teams, different in form and game, and between two managers who are not on a same level anymore.
